These radios are designed and tested to meet the U.S. military standards MIL-STD 810 C, D, E, F, for shock, vibration, rain and dust, ensuring it will perform in rigorous work environments. You can expect coverage up to 350,000 Sq. Ft. or up to 30 Floors. VX Series Radios are user-programmable with the purchase of software and programming cables, and are repeater capable if needed. The VX-261 can be programmed to work with any existing VHF or UHF radio, just ask for custom programming when ordering.
The VX-261 radio features ARTS™ (Auto Range Transpond System) to alert when you and another ARTS-equipped station are in range. When ARTS is in use, your radio will transmit for one second every minute in an attempt to handshake with the other station. If no signal is received, or your radio is out of range of the other station for more than two minutes, the radio will emit a alert beep. Once you are within range again and the radio receives a transmission from the other station, your radio will emit a beep. VX-261 series radios are the perfect all-purpose radio choice with compact and simple to use functions. The VX-261 comes with an emergency notification system (lone worker mode), 4 scanning options, CTCSS / DCS, two programmable buttons, and easy cloning with cloning cable option. Channel scan and monitor functions are also supported.
